We’re delighted to share something we’ve been working on bringing you from the beautiful Orosi Valley in Costa Rica, available for the first time at cNFTcon this year! Our batch of delicious coffee ☕️

Welcome to The Firefly Shire Coffee, where we’re dedicated to finding the highest quality beans for a fair price in collaboration with local farmers.

The coffee bags available at cNFTcon were cultivated by Calderon Coffee Tour using the Costa Rica 95 variety in the heart of Costa Rica’s Orosi Valley, and the beans hand-picked to ensure only the best make it into your cup. The beans were processed with the “honey” method to bring out the full aroma and flavor of the bean.

The honey method (or pulped natural) is a natural method in which the fresh coffee cherries are de-pulped, but allowed to dry without washing. Most of the cherry is gone, but the remaining golden, sticky mucilage is reminiscent of honey, which is where the process gets its name. It’s widely practiced in the area as Costa Rica is often regarded as the home of honey processing.

One benefit is that honey processing uses less water. Allowing the fruit to dry on the bean means that it can be physically removed during milling rather than being washed off as is typical of washed coffees.

The end result is a rich and flavorful cup of coffee that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet moment at home or looking for a pick-me-up during your busy day, The Firefly Shire Coffee picks from Costa Rica are sure to delight you.

We’ll be posting more about the farms we’re collaborating with and sharing how you can visit! Stay tuned.
